Ninth Wave Arts
Folk wisdom and folk arts, rooted in living practices, seasonal rhythm, and shared experience.
We gather to create, listen, tend, and learn — in step with the turning year.
Ninth Wave Arts holds a mission both ancient and urgently contemporary:Â to remember and reclaim folk wisdom and folk arts.
Â
Practices carried through time — songs sung in kitchens and forests, crafts shaped by hand, rituals marking the turning of the seasons, and stories told around tables and fires that stitch meaning into daily life.
We create spaces where creativity and wellbeing meet — where people gather, share skills, and tend both the practical and unseen threads that run through ordinary days. Here, kinship is practised through care and curiosity.
At Ninth Wave Arts, you’ll find accessible gatherings, hands-on workshops, seasonal experiences, artisan markets, creative circles, and deeper learning pathways.
Some offerings are free or by donation.
 Some are single-day workshops.
 Some unfold over years.
Come as you are.
 Arrive as your moment allows.

 You might come seasonally.
You might walk with us for years.
There is no single way to belong.
If you’re someone who enjoys learning through experience, noticing the seasons, and taking part in shared practice, you’ll likely feel at home here.
Ninth Wave Arts is located in Carp, Ontario, at the Carp Ridge EcoWellness Centre — surrounded by forest, field, and stone. We work within the realities of this place. We shovel snow, stack wood, notice the weather, and tend the space we gather in. We aim to be good neighbours — to the people nearby, to the wildlife passing through, and to the changing seasons that shape our days.
