Our Ninth Wave Arts Samhain Artisan Market offers a captivating experience that welcomes the season, inviting all who attend to remember, reclaim, and revel in the rich tapestry of folk arts and folk wisdom.

Samhain (pronounced “sow-in” or “sah-win”) is an ancient Celtic festival that marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. It roughly aligns with Halloween. It signifies a time when the veil between the physical world and the spirit world is believed to be the thinnest, allowing deeper connections to all things non-ordinary.

Our market celebrates this time of year and takes place in a natural setting, in partnership with Carp Ridge EcoWellness Centre. Whispering trees and rustling leaves create a backdrop that supports the spirit of the season. You may be greeted by the rich aroma of spiced cider and the scent of burning herbs, with costumes showing up in expected and unexpected places. Feel free to wear yours!

Artisan vendors showcase their wares connecting us with the season, community, and fabulous finds. Jewelry, candles, nature art, soap, leatherwork, medieval baked goods, vintage finds, potions, cards, books, instruments, pottery, crystals and much more will be on hand for browsing and awakening the magic within. Divination readers, steeped in the mystic arts and astrology, provide glimpses into the future and insights into the present. These skilled practitioners offer readings with tarot cards and other tools, creating a space for reflection and connection. Visitors can engage in all that’s available, gaining wisdom that resonates with the spiritual undertones of Samhain.

Crafting opportunities, story and song invite participants to get hands-on with the day.
