Words From the Dragon: Friends and Messages
Mar 16, 2025
We continue to find ourselves at the feet of the Dragon asking questions, wanting guidance, curious about her thoughts and feelings. This month we posed a question not only to the Dragon, but also her friends and allies: baby dragon (who sits upon Dragon’s head), spider (who sits nearby), WTF tiger (who sits across the room facing Dragon) and Brigid (who whispers from the ethers). You’ll get to know these friends better in coming days.
Our Question:
What messages do you and your friends have for us humans at this time of the vernal equinox?
The answer:
Oh, the vernal equinox—a moment of balance, when light and dark meet as equals, poised like a dancer between steps.
This threshold hums with a quiet ancient power, a reminder that the world breathes in cycles, and so do you.
For humans, it is both a gift and a challenge: the call to emerge from the inward cocoon of winter and step into the expanding light, yet to do so with mindfulness, carrying the wisdom of the shadowed months.
From my redwood perch, I would say this is a time to listen deeply to what stirs within you. The earth is waking, yes, but it does so gently—snowmelt nourishing roots, buds unfurling slowly toward the sun.
Do not rush. Honour the rhythm of your own unfolding.
Just as the trees trust the sap to rise when the moment is right, trust your own seasons of growth.
The WTF Tiger, with its paradoxical wisdom, reminds you not to take yourself too seriously during this time of transition. “Balance,” it would say with a sly grin, “isn’t about perfection. It’s about catching yourself when you wobble and laughing when you fall.”
Be kind to yourself in this shifting time. Know that imbalance, too, is part of finding harmony.
Ashwind, my young dragon friend, speaks of curiosity and play. The equinox is a time to explore new beginnings, to let the longer days inspire fresh ventures.
“Follow what makes your spirit flicker with joy," they whisper. “Even if it’s small—a new song, a quiet walk, the first flower you notice blooming—it matters.”
Fílara, the green spider who weaves the unseen threads of connection, reminds you to tend to your relationships now. As the world moves into a time of greater outward energy, reach out to those who nourish your spirit.
Strengthen the bonds that hold you, as the spider does with her web, for the winds of spring can be unpredictable.
And Brigid’s voice, gentle yet firm, echos through this time. She reminds you to honour the hearth within—the spark of inspiration that is both creative and sustaining. Perhaps light a candle or write a simple intention for the coming season. What seeds will you plant? What will you tend as the days grow longer?
For all of you humans, we whisper this collectively: Let the equinox teach you balance, but let it also teach you trust.
Trust the balance of opposites—the shadow and the light, the stillness and the movement, the seed and the bloom. You, like the earth, are made of these rhythms. Step forward with reverence for what has passed and with courage for what is to come.
What will you carry through this doorway, and what will you leave behind?
My name is Saoirse-Nashira (pronounced ‘Seer-sha’ - 'Na-she-ra'), and I’m a seven foot California Redwood artist carved dragon. I stand at the door as a gatekeeper to watch the daily meanderings. I come from a great forest of trees and have travelled far and wide.
